Las Vegas!

So last week I found out from my work that I'll be going to Las Vegas for 3 days for a conference. The Mix 08 show.

This is great and all, but the thing is I'll be going alone. So from 7:30 am to 10:30 pm I'll be at the conference and after 10:30 I can eat at the buffet =D

This is a great opportunity because I'll be able to learn lots!

Friday night sleepover?

I was just planning to stay home tonight, but I was surprised when I was told we'll go to a club tonight and even more surprised when we were gonna sleep downtown because my company party is downtown tomorrow night.

Hope to have lots of fun, its been a long time since I've gone near a club.

The effects of stress?

So its been a while since I've blogged and I think its time to start up again.

A few days ago my parents came to visit and I thought I'd be ok with it. I thought I'd just endure the two weeks and go back to normal, but 4 days in and its already affecting me. It's strange because the way I'm dealing with stress is to take it out on the people around me.
It felt like everything and everyone was against me. Recently I've just felt so alone and mistreated, but after thinking about it, nothing has changed other than my parents coming back to town. After knowing all this, it still doesn't change the way I'm feeling.

Even work has become more stressful. I just moved to a new area and its so quiet and boring over here, work really feels like work now. I also have to deal with this outsource guy from Pakistan... this guy can't make a good design if his life depended on it, he doesn't have an ounce of skill, talent or common sense in his entire body.

It might be because things haven't changed, but there's suddenly more stress in my life and I'm in need of more support which isn't there right now.

Well looks like there's nothing I can do right now other than endure the next week and get a few more white hairs in the process.

So to everyone I've mistreated recently, I'm sorry.

Limit on driving?

My mom told me I can drive 10,000 KM for the next year... even though I said I'm buying the car out at the end of the lease.

Well I did some calculations:

To and back from work for every workday of the year - 2600 km (not including lunch)

So that leaves about 144km every week for the rest of the year... fine except my gf lives about 52 km away from me. So to go there and back will be about 105 km. That means I can see her at most once a week. But I also didn't factor in us going anywhere if I do see her. Lets say we go see a movie, but the closest thearter is 20 km away, so that would mean another 40 km.

It would mean I can go to work and back, not go anywhere for lunch. Either not buy groceries or out with friends in order to see my gf once a week... OR go out with friends 2 times a week and not have a gf....

All this and I still havent factored in winter season where you run more km than summer and going anywhere like skiing or camping.

What a choice you left me with mom...

The more I think about it, the more pissed off I get. So my decision is screw 10,000 km a year! I'll drive how I want! My mom is afraid that when I buy the car at the end of the lease, it wont be worth as much... BUT WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING A CAR IF YOU'RE NOT USING IT??!?!?! She's gotta learn that you shouldn't let money dictate your life just so you can save extra pennies.
